performance ignition systems?

I have a 4 banger in my jeep. I was averaging 19-21 mpg and it dropped to around 15-16 and started running rough so I replaced the O2 sensor and the plugs, wires, cap and rotor. the motor started running better but the mileage is still around 17. with gas prices climbing I am trying to figure out the problem. and I'm looking for suggestions.

Could it be:
1) the map sensor
2) the clogged cat
3) the TPS sensor
4) the fuel pressure regulator
5) a bad distributor
6)EGR valve
7) crank postion sensor
8) bad coil
9)IAC valve

also I have thought about getting a after market distributor and/or ignition system what would you guys recommend.

1) jacobs
2) MSD
3) mallory
4) HEI (if available)
5) Accel
6) DUI (Davis United Ignitions)

TIA

I dont have a good answer your question on the ignition, I am reserching them also, as for the mileage. Did any one thing start making it run bad, if it was running real rich, then you may have plugged up your cat, I have never heard of a coil going bad and still working, if the jeep runs, your coil most likely is working. Are you getting any check engine lights? Have you checked the codes??
You nned to do that, most of the time if your sensors start going, they will trigger a light.

The check engine light is not on or coming on there are no codes stored in the computer. and the cat is only a year old. thats why I'm stumped.

I checked the timing and it was at 12 degrees over. I have a 95 yj with a 4 cyl like it says in my sig. I have been trying to find a friend that has a compression tester so I can test compression. I had not changed anything I had been running the same setup for over a year when it suddenly changed and I have been chasing the problem ever since.
