Pecking noise at startup
I bought my WJ back a few months ago. Due to time constraints and work requirements, it has taken me a few months to get this thing fixed up and inspected so I could start driving it. I made sure to start it pretty regularly even though I wasn't driving it daily. This thing NEVER made the notorious pecking noise at startup that Jeeps do, even when going 3-4 weeks between starts. I got this thing inspected this week and I have been driving it back and forth to work. Today I got home from work, and was working on some speaker replacement. I cranked the Jeep because I had been playing the radio for awhile. When it fired up, the dang pecking noise started. Not once has this engine made this noise since I bought it. I bought the stuff to do an oil change a couple of days ago. Looking for some advice on whether I should try an additive to the oil when I do the oil change on Sunday.

No additives please. Just good oil at regular intervals should do. See how it is after the change.
