over heating problems

I'm having a HUGE problem with my 1989 Cherokee over heating..I know these have a crappy cooling system..I have replaced the thermostat, reservoir, radiator hoses, heater hoses, and water pump..I have had over heating problems ever since I got it but just recently replaced those things I just mentioned..I have gotten the air out of cooling system..the heater core is good and so is the radiator..here's the thing, its not really running hot now but every time I drive it and then park it all my coolant ends up on the ground, coming from the reservoir..I can't get it to hold pressure..is there any I can do to fix this? I've heard a 1990 S10 radiator fits perfect in there and I can do away with that BS plastic tank..but as of now funds are limited and can't find one fairly cheap..if anyone could please throw me some ideas thst could be helpful I would greatly appreciate it..thanks

Did you get the right water pump they are directional.

V belts clockwise or normal rotation

Serpentine belts are Reverse

Check it out could be the issue

Something else odd, it doesn't start gushing water as soon as I cut it off, it wait til the heater core opens/closes then it starts..so I obviously know its not holding pressure but I have checked everywhere where pressure should be and no leaks..it just keeps coming from the bottle cap..

So it's not actually overheating while operating, but you park it and the pressure bottle's pissed everywhere?

I take it you are still on the original cooling system with the pressure bottle and have not done the swap to the Chrysler "open" system. If you have the original silliness, upgrade for the bottle cap is part number 703-1396.

Your best bet is to swap in a radiator out of 91 up xj. They sell a kit at parts stores for hooking the 2 hoses together where the old bottle is. You can get an overflow there too. This will give you a radiator cap. You may also look into electric fan swap too.

My 87 still runs with factory cooling system.
New radiator, tstat, tstat housing, pump, hoses, bladder bottle AND a new bottle cap. The cap makes it hold pressure till it cools down. I dont mind the old system. It works.
