OT Dodge Dakota Key-Off Battery Drain
Sorry in advance for the Dodge question, but after surfing a couple Dodge sites I'm thinking this is where the brains are. 01 Dakota 3.9 has a load with the key off. Its drawing about 4 amps and will cause a test light to flash on and off. If I pull the HEVAC (Dodge's spelling of HVAC) fuse it stops. There is no blower relay to stick points and the blower isn't running. Its looking to me like an ignition switch issue to me. Any input appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have the underhood light?

We're way beyond that. Disconnected it before we did anything else. The ignition switch fixed it. Thanks for the input.

Hey, no problem. I've owned 2 Dakotas a 97 and an 01. Next time you might want to list the steps you've taken to diagnose in advance. Helps to cut to the chase.

If you'll reread the original post you'll see we already narrowed the load to the HEVAC circuit. Don't know if we could cut anymore than that.
