Oil Pressure?

I noticed that the oil pressure on my '94 YJ 2.5L runs about 40 or so pounds cold and stays up near there while driving.

Yesterday, while being smogged (wonderful California), It sat idling for quite a while. When I left the smog station and got home I noticed that the oil pressure was down to about 25+ pounds at idle.

The engine was running fine and no funny noises (tappet or knocks).

I wonder if this is a normal thing for a jeep engine with 101,000 miles on it?

BTW Very warm day (90+) 6 mile drive home (up hill)

I tried to do a search on this forum for " Oil Pressure" and recieved the error:

(The search term you specified (oil) is under the minimum word length (4) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer.)

How does one go about making the word "oil" longer?

Thanks, Chuck

I think if you use the term 'oil*' being oil with an asterics that will meet the 4 letter requirement

Hey Thanks, I tried what you said and got some interesting threads related to this.

Funny though, none of the titles came back with: Oil Pressure
and I know they're a couple in this section.

Thanks, Chuck

I've got a ZJ with the 4.0L. Mine did the same thing. I replaced the oil pressure switch (~$30) and it's back up where it should be.
