oil leeeak!!!!

i havean 89 cherokee it is leaking oil, its cum from the blok under the oil filter. is that housing replaceable ?and wat could have caused the leak?

I'm sorry but I don't understand where the leak is. Are you saying it's coming from the base of the oil filter or near it or?????

The more specific you are the more somebody here will help you.

yes its coming from near the oil filter, in the same houseing, its not the pressure valve,

almost like a huge outlet under the filter, how can i fix, new part? pipe dope? idkk

Search "oil filter adapter". It's as easy as replacing a set of 3 o-rings you buy from the dealer for about $8.

Your 89 will have a regular six-sided bolt holding the adapter on. Don't get freaked out when reading about removing the later models' bolts with the T-60 Torx head.
