Oil Change

I just did my first Jeep oil change, went as smooth as expected, went with the mobil 10W30 Synthetic and filer. one filter six quarts of oil. Well my jeep only took five of the Quarts. I let the jeep drain for about an hour with the fill cap off and no filter. I read on hear and On Oman's site they needed 6 quarts. I put everyting back together cranked over a fiew times checked the oil and no change so I started it for a fiew minutes, no change. A week later no change, Has anybody else done this and got the same results only using 5 quarts???

I am going to be doing my first oil change this weekend on my 97 SE Jeep Wrangler, I'll let you know how much I needed.
oops...i just noticed that you have a 6cyl Sport, they may take more oil than the 4cyl.
