No start

My 01 grand Cherokee is not starting with the key. I can trip the starter and get it to run and it drives and acts fine, but once it's off the key turns on all of the electrical parts but will not crank the motor and the starter does nothing..... Please help!!!!

Start by finding and testing the neutral safety switch. Easiest way to check it is to bypass it. If it starts after that you know the cause.

Find the switch and connect the two wires going to the switch directly to each other. Bypassing the switch itself.
