No oil pressure

I was driving for a while with my pressure gauge that would fluctuate. I didn't really think it was much of a threat because i didn't notice anything until recently...... Just today I was driving on the freeway and my oil pressure was slowly going down, eventually it went to zero. I was about an hour away from home when this happened. I drove the rest of the was on the streets driving slow and making sure to not put that much stress on the engine. I looked under my engine there was a wee but of oil dropping about every 3 min. I also opened the hood and put my hand above the engine and felt puffs of hair coming from it. I checked my oil right when this happened and there was a "safe" amount of oil. Now I did all these checks right when I saw the gauge go down. I made it home safely but I was wondering what could be wrong. The only thing that I noticed happening what a drip of oil coming
From the engine and the puffs of air coming from the tip of the engine. So what do I need in order to save my engine.

From Joe Peters and well stated. Sounds harsh but just makes sense:

“Let’s play a game.

You pretend that you are the only one that knows what year/engine/model, etc that you are asking about.

We will all pretend you never asked a question until you provide at least the bare minimum of information about your vehicle”.

Also before this I have never had any leaks. Or wired noises. It was simply perfect.

Go poke your noggin under the hood and have a gander near the oil filter.

Yes, you are confusing for sure. I've been around Jeeps since 1980 and cars in general since the mid 60s and I've never heard of an oil valve..........
