New tool day: largest common socket size for Jeeps? 3/8" or 1/2" drive?

Hello all. I'm sick of messing around with my mix-n-match socket set, so I'm going to buy some nice Made-in-USA Craftsman sockets.

For $48 I can get a set of 3/8" drive 6-point sockets, SAE & Metric, up to 1" and 22mm. Or, for $95 I can get a complete set of 1/4", 3/8" & 1/2" drive sockets, up to 1-1/4" and 22mm", including a few very small sizes as wel.

I can't decide:
a) if I'll ever need the sockets above 1" (1"-1/16", 1-1/8", 1-3/16", 1-1/4"),
b) if I really need the 1/2" drive. 3/8" seems to be fine for pretty much everything Jeep.

But we're only talking about a $47 difference here. I'm not sure what larger socket sizes I've encounted on my YJ so far. Thoughts?

I prefer using 1/2'' drive impact sockets. I don't have to worry as much about breaking the breaker bar or sockets.

I say up to 22 and then the size for the axle nut.

Get the $95 one. You'll be glad for the 1/2 drive the first time you remove a seized bolt.

Get the 1/2" set. You'll find plenty of rusty bolts that would snap a 3/8"

Another vote for 1/2" drive. I haven't used a 3/8 socket since I got my 1/2" set. I haven't tried getting into any tight spots lately though, where a 3/8 would come in handy. But for working on stuff like suspension bushings, your skidplates, anything under the Jeep would really do well with the bigger beefier wrench.
