Name that part

I was changing the thermostat in my daughters 96 cherokee and the little hose on the thermostat housing broke off the part it's hooked to on the other end. Something to do with the heater I'm guessing it has 4 hoses and a little grey line or some thing hooked to it. I'm trying to find the part name so I can price and get one but I can't find it in the Haynes manual I have.

Without a picture or a better description, all I can offer is "do-hicky" or "thing-a-ma-jig."

What is the purpose of that part? Are there internal parts? Is the part plastic, metal, or? Help us here.

Sounds like the heater valve. Plastic? Costs like $40. Or cheaper in junkyards.

Yep plastic with 4 ports well 3 now and a hole and a little metal canister with a tiny vacuume line hooked to it. If it's not the heater valve I will get a picture of it today. Thanks guys
