Ok, so I have a 77/78 Chief. 360/th400. Since I've been driving it I've been trying to trace all of the odd sounds it has. One that I'm still having trouble with I's a rocker arm tick. I had one shop try to tell me it was a bad wrist pin...I have pulled the valve covers roughly 4 times and every single time I manage top find some of the rockers loose. The motor was rebuilt looking ago but still fresh, 60k. It has said studs but no bridges, tried to buy and install then and they don't fit...it has oblong locking nuts with no washers tisk are very hard to remove and tighten, but when I manage to, the rockers do go quiet. For about 5 minutes...I don't know too much about amc motors so I'm a little lost...also the motor feels stronger than 140hp and it revs to about 4600. I'd like to swap over to full rollers as well.

Sounds like it's an early 70s engine.

How early though, I haven't looked at the heads where the pushrods come out but the pivots are round like a Chevy...

Same casting number on the head, and it has the oblong ports for the push rods. So I should be able to just slap on some rollers rockers without issues right? I was going to throw some washers under the nuts and some lock tight on the threads till then. should be fine right?
