mpg with 4.88 in Rubicon

i am going to put 4.88 gears in my 06 rubicon with the 6spd trasn and was tryin to get a idea on what my fuel economy was going to be. i have 35s

i was about to post the same as well. also what would power be like vs stock 31s and 4.10s? i dont wanna loose my power nor RPM's be crazy

4.88's and 35's put you right back in the torque zone of the stock set up. They work perfectly together. increased rolling and wind resistance will hurt your milage by about -2 mpg. My guess is you'll end up with 13 mpg avg. I get around 11-14 depending on how I drive, which usually is like I stole it. Build it, and buy a $500 Honda for commuting to work.

with the pressure in my tires a bit higher than they should be and pure interstate cruising i can pull a steady 17 MPG

I'm also looking to replace stock gears with 4.88s. I have 33s on a stock suspension jeep. 2.5 liter engine. Stock 5 speed. Problem now is it is incredibly weak in 5th gear. I'm told this gear selection would be better than 4.56. I too want to keep decent mpg, since it is a daily driver and the majority of the time I am on paved roads. Any thoughts? Thanks for bringing up the topic.

same set-up here but with 3.75 inches of lift, any thoughts?
