The marriage of a 304 and 700R4.... Will it end in divorce?

Started a CJ project.. The guy I bought his thing from already had a 304 AMC V8 in it. He also had a TH 700R4 transmission. I pulled the motor a rebuilt it from the ground up. Well now comes the time to either re marry the two or go through with the divorce. There is no bellhousing. So... I would have to fabricate a new bellhousing if I stuck with the existing tranny. Is there a adapter housing? Is this my best option? What do you think?
