Locker in a 27 spline Chrysler 8.25?
I've decided I want to lock my rear differential in my '95 XJ. Seeing as it has the 27 spline Chrysler 8.25, my only options for a lunchbox seem to be the Powertrax No-slip or the Lock-Rite. I want to do the work myself as well, so anything having to do with re-setting my gears is out of the question as far as upgrading the axle goes.
My question is, is this axle strong enough to run a locker in? I'm on 33's right now with a 3.55 gear ratio. I drive mostly on pavement with a four-wheeling trip about once a month and I don't try anything too ridiculous. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
