K&N FIPK

Has anyone installed one of the K&N fuel injection performance kits? If so did you run into any problems during the installation and has it increased hp? Also have you had any problems when it rains or getting water into the filter.

Thanks

I have not tried one, but have had great luck with just K&N replacement filters. I have been reserching an open air for my XJ and have seen conflicting reports - the one that bothers me is a -5Hp result because of the open air pulling hot engine air. HOWEVER this was supposidly a dyno test and it is unknown how it was done so there may not have been any fresh air that was blown into the grill to simulate real street driving. One thing to look at it Rusty's off road makes a kit that comes with a round K&N filter and cat back exhaust fo under 200$. but again i don't know anything about it i just found it and was atracted by the value

I use a Rusty's Air tube on the 4.0 and I love it. I found a great impovement in throttle response and slight fuel milage gain. Highly recommended! The warm engine air made me hesitate too, but down here in Florida the air outside isn't a whole lot cooler

Does anybody have a pic of the Rusty's air tube installed in their YJ?? I saw the pic on their site and I can't visualize how it is installed.

Check this out. I'm like you and wondered what it looked like. Now I'm thinking about doing it to my Cherokee

I would go with the Rusty's Tube simply because it costs 1/3 of what everyone else wants for air induction. I have "zero" complaints about mine!

Sorry, I didn't post a pic of my air tube. I had a bike race last weekend and it completely slipped my mind.
