I realize I'm getting old so my eyes may be bad and these aren't the greatest of pictures, but what are we supposed to be seeing?

Sorry for not explaining what these pictures are supposed to show..

In first picture I've noticed that there is a vent? Or dent not sure how that happened or when it happened.

I'll try to take better picture as soon as I can.

Are you referring to the darker spot on the differential cover where there's more paint than rust/grime? The D35 has a vent line over there the brake lines meet

Yeah that looks like the factory tag. Serial number and ratio were printed on there.

Yeah it's just a stamped ID tag. Surprised it hasn't rusted off!

This was all about the ID tag? Stock it would have identified your gearing. Completely external. Keep it. Remove it. What ever you want.
