Jeep YJ engine swap

I am currently thinking about pulling the 2.5 cylinder engine from my 90 Jeep YJ to put in something larger. I Dont know if i should sell the wrangler for one with a 4.0 or keep it and put a v8 in it along with larger axels, trans. etc... Also if i were to put a v8 into it what would be the best, simplest motor to put in to it. Should it be carburated or fuel injected? I have a limited budget so im not sure what to do.
