Jeep liberty bent axle

Bought a used car from a dealer and after a few days noticed shaking at 30 mph and worse when braking. Took to dealer. They sent to their mechanics, 3 of them over a month, problem still persists. I took to my mechanic. He said bent rear 2wd axle. Extended warranty did not cover and part cannot be bought anywhere but jeep. Total cost plus labor $700 approx. sickening. Wish I could find and axle for less than $350 that jeep charges. Dealer said they wanted to see it again for accident inspection, said I may have been in wreck since purchased. Nothing I can do. Folks like that take po folks money.

Are you talking about the axle or the housing.
Axles can be replaced.
Housings can be bent using chains and a jack. While not a "pure" repair, it can be done to satisfaction. I have straightened many housings on old wood haulers this way for next to nothing.

Junkyard axles an option? Saw a pretty clean KJ there. Not sure what year your's is or if KJ/KK rear ends are compatible. (I'm assuming not many KKs in JYs)
