Intake/exhaust manifold

I'm missing the stud/bolt for the manifold that is closet to the firewall. Not sure if it should be a bolt in there or a stud... does anyone know?? I've heard that maybe these engines came without that stud in place?? That doesn't sound right though. The motor is a 4.2l out of an '88 YJ.
thanks

I've been told there is a factory recall for that stud, you may want to call your local dealer and see what you can do.

so it should be a stud... not a bolt that is located at the back of the engine... closest to the fire wall??

It's a stud on mine, but it's a different engine from a different year. I'm pretty sure there's supposed to be one there though...
