I6 versus new V6?

I have owned four Jeeps with an I6 in it. A 4.2 YJ, 4.0 Cherokee, 4.0 Grand(both ZJ and WJ). I have not driven the V6 yet, but from my experience that straight six is about as reliable as they come. I'm slightly skeptical of the V6, probably just because of the prior mentioned experience with the I6. What are yall's thoughts on the V6? I've decided that I can't really knock it 'til I've tried it. But I'm still curious as to how people who have driven both for an extended period of time think that they stack up. (also, Im new to the forum, this very possibly has already been discussed. If so, if you don't want to go through it again, if someone would just direct me to that I'd appreciate it.)

Read up on any jk theads, I'm sure you'll find a discussion or 2. In general an inline engine produces more torque at lower rpm, a v engine more hp at higher rpm. The v6 I think is fairly proven as an engine as it has been used for a while in other vehicles. It may prove to be just fine once folks get used to running at higher rpm than they're used to.

Here is a comparison of the torque curves...

The engine has been around since 1992, but I feel that it just isn't enough power to be pulling around the extra weight of the JK.

I had a cj with the buick v6 (225) in it. I now have my seconed Jeep with the 4.0 I6in it. The I6 has been great, but I would trade for that old 225 in a heart beat,,,,, maybe with FI.
