I cant find my front differential

I have a 98 jeep grand cherokee i bought a couple thousand miles ago
I went to go check out my front diff(which i thought whay supposed to
Be in the front axel) and i cant find it for the life of me. Do some
98 jeep grand cherokees 4.0 v6 2wheel drive jeeps not front diff?

No reason for a 2WD vehicle to have a front diff

Thanks guys, i changed my rear diff fluid it was whinning alot, not its whinning and almost sound like its grinding, i used 75 90 i think, shouls i got with 140? Or is the any additive to quite it down

No, the noise will not go away with a different fluid or additive. You have a problem more than likely with a bearing or possibly gears. Without knowing more info or hearing it in person you are going to have to take steps to eliminate/find the culprit. I'm talking about bearings in the rear axle ( axle/wheel bearings, differential side bearings, pinion bearings, then possibly a problems with the spider gears or ring/pinion gears.
