HP Dana 30 Q's
I have a 06 LJ. I'm wanting to swap in a HP Dana 30. I'm going to be running 35 KM2's. What jeep do I need to get the HP dana 30 out of? I'm wanting to get one that will bolt right in. I know most of the ones in the cherokee's came with 3.55 gear. Did they make them with 3.73 or 4.11 from the factory? Any info would be very much appreciated!
All XJ front axles will bolt into a TJ with no modifications. '96 - '99 XJ are the best years to look for. They don't have the shaft disconnect and do have the same knuckles and u-joints your '04 has. Prior to '96 they had the smaller u-uoints but you can use your current shafts. Go back a few more years and you get into things like the shaft disconnect and a two piece knuckle. They did come with 3.55, 3.73, and 4.10 gears.
Keep in mind that free advice can frequently be worth less than you pay for it.
