how well (or not well) would 33's work on a 2.5L 4cyl?

The title really says it all. I'm currently running a 1989 YJ, with a reverse shackle kit and easily clearing 31's. I want to get a 2 inch lift and get 33's, but i think it will really take a lot of power away from my already weak engine. It is basically the stock 4cyl that came in the 89' YJ. So how terrible (or hopefully not that terrible) of an idea is this?

i ran 33s on my 4 cyl... the only problem was on the highway. i would start looking at upgrading your axle gears though to gain some power back i ran 4.88 gears which is generally too high for 33s, but on a 4 cyl it seemed just right

I ran 32" on my 3.73's and it wasn't bad at all. But when I bumped up to 36's I went 4.88 and it was still good to me the only downfall was that I was 4 spd manual and freeways and 4.88's didn't like each other. Had to run really high rpm to keep up with traffic.
Get the appropriate gear set and you will run fine.

84 xj 350tbi, sm465, 203/205, 60/70. links and other junk.
what size sawzall blades does it take to fit 40's?
