Hot Brake Smell...

OK, so last night I had my Jeep out in the GWNF, and I go over this log to get into a mud hole and turn around. It doesn't really feel like I high-centered, but friends had to push me backwards, then I had to find another way out.

My questions is it seemed like I was burning the clutch out, there was that brake smell, and smoke (I let off the gas as soon as I saw that),

Also my TC Lever keeps popping out of 4HI and 4LO. I try holding the level and it still pops out...I have a TC drop, could anyone help me with a fix for this? It also gets into a bind moving the lever around.
