highway speed on UNIMOG axles

I am planning on a CJ7 AMC360 with UNIMOG axles 7.56 gear ratio on 38" tires.
pro's : strong, gear ratio, portals, low center of gravity
con's : gear ratio, no highway speed, anny other?
So I could replace the T176 for another tranny which has overdrive but not an AUTO tranny. I thought about an AX15 (0.75 fifth gear) but i think thats not enough.
Are there any suggestions how I can get up to 50mpH at about 2300rpm?
