I have a 2001 tj jeep wrangler sport. I've had it for almost two years now and just with in the last week it won't start the first time. It starts the second time just fine except the occasional 1out of 20 it takes 3 or 4. It doesnt matter if its hot or cold out, but if its been sitting more than 2hours it will not start the first time. It will just keep cranking. Had the battery checked out and it tested 100% no engine lights or anything. Took it to the mechanics and they couldn't find anything wrong with it.

Its probably the anti drainback valve.
Its with the fuel pump assembly in the tank.
Bad anti drain back valve allows the fuel line to empty. Then it takes longer for fuel to hit the rail and you crank a little longer.
Your first crank primes the fuel line and gets fuel to the rail. Then it fires right up on your second crank because fuel is there.

Does this require the whole fuel pump to be replaced or can I just replace the valve. Also if there was something wrong with the fuel pump wouldn't it cause the engine light to go off.? Cause there is no light.
