HEADS sbc

hey guys,

I've got a SBC engine and its built, minus heads. I was wondering what heads would be good for off road competition. Would an aluminum head be good, or a cast head? Whats some good options and why?

thanks

If your looking for low end, nothing does it like Vortec iron heads. If you want topend power, go with AFR 190+ Aluminum heads. If you want to rev into the stratusphere, SB2 Aluminum heads.

Those are easily the most common and proven choices for their respective strengths and purposes.

Well... people put LSx engines in buggies all the time, and those are all aluminum... The LQ/LM series engines are just iron counterparts. In all honesty I have no clue how an all aluminum engine will react when it is fully submerged.

You have a Chevy sb400? take a look at the heads. A sb400 has some Steam vents in the block and head that no other sm Chevy has.
