head deck!

how much can i deck the head on my 2.5? im not looking to surface it, im looking for a higher C/R. please don't come back with the block decking thing. i know its a better idea to deck the block........ i have an extra head its getting sexy new smooth runners and smooth chambers. im not going to pull the engine just to deck the block. maybe later, when it need .060 over slugs but not now. and NO im cobbling in a SB or any other high dollar mod. plus i like the look in 4.0L guys eyes when my 2.5L low output 4 popper eats their lunch.

i decked the head .015" FYI thats too much. i can't change the timing to get rid of the spark knock.
i put some 110 in the tank but it only helped a little.

Try NGK BKR6EK plugs to get rid of the ping (make sure the length is correct first and not too long) Adjust the crank sensor bolt holes so you can slide it sideways slightly and retard timing slightly.
Did you do a 4.0L throttle body swap yet?
