Gears question
I have a '06 TJ and was wondering how you can tell what kind of gears you have? Also the type of axles? Anyone able to shoot me in the right direction to look for these?

The TJ Forum FAQ in the TJ Tech Forum has these answers.
Here are some links: Which axle(s) do I have? How do I determine my gear ratio? And another thread with info: Stock TJ Specifications

if all else fails then tape a long string to the bottom of the driveshaft, push the jeep forward, or backward, until the tire makes 1 full rotation, look and see how many times the string wrapped around the driveshaft. 3 & 1/2 times would be 3:50 and so on and so on. if you have a posi then you can just jack up the rear and turn the tires one turn, because they will both turn in the same direction and amount.
