gasoline smell

I noticed a strong gasoline smell coming from my 97 4.0L. There is not a drop of fuel on the ground. Any thoughts???

A friend of mine had the same problem on his 98'. They replaced the top seal on his gas tank. That was years ago but he had the same problem ... always a gas smell but nothing on the ground.

I had this problem about 6 months ago. Turned out that I needed to replace 3 of the fuel injectors. The stream was so faint that they could hardly been seen. A mechanic friend helped me find them, but, once you know to look there, they are easily seen.
