Welcome to the forum. Fill out your profile.

On my '97 TJ the electrical connection at the tank for the fuel pump requires you to remove a little red tab from the electrical connector to disconnect. In other words the red tab locks the connector together.

Pull the red tab up then pull it out of the connector then you can unplug it

On 89 jeep cherokee pioneer.. got fuel pump.. Doesnt work with assembly... Got a new assembly.. Doesn't fit right in tank.. Float is pressing against tank wall.. Off by 1/8 inch... Then I thought.. Maybe wrong part.. Went back again to part store.. Looked at a few other assemblies.. Same.... Thinking about modifying pump bracket to fit new pump.. Any suggestions?

Ya dont use a aftermarket pump try to find a thicker oring that seals the pump but if you modify the pump and the sending unit it might not read the correct fuel level is it the same as the pump you removed

No CEL or codes in 90 on Renix.

OP, do you have a multimeter and know how to use it?

I have a multi meter.. But not too sure how to use.. No check engine light.. On slow sharp turn.. Like in parking lot.. It dies.. Almost like the power steering is choking it

When revved in park.. It almost dies when coming back to idle speed.. If I barely press gas pedal.. It rolls but studders at low rpm
