front wheels locked up

I have a 1978 CJ_7 with quadra trac I am new to jeeping so I need all the help I can get my front wheels locked up on me while driving what could it be also I dont like the quadra trac and would like to change to manuale locking hubs to engage the 4 wheel drive is this doable

Not much information...
The emergency drive is engaged.
Mismatched gears between the front and rear diff.

You can try to find a mile marker part time kit. They have been discontinued, but a used unit would still work.
Swap in a D18 t case from an early CJ. You will have to buy an adapter. It can get rather expensive.

You need to figure out where it is locked up. Transfer case or axle. Will it roll with the transfer cas in Neutral?

Do you have a locker, LSD, or an open differential?

Jack up the front and remove the front drive shaft. Will the wheels turn? Are the brakes seized? Pull the differential cover and look for damage.
