Front axle with Detroit TrueTrac in the snow.

Been knocking around the idea of a locker for the front axle of my jeep. My rear axle has a factory LSD which has served well for my needs but I'd like to have more pulling power without giving up driveability on the road.

95% of my wheeling involves driving on the lake bottom to go fishing and kicking down what I would describe as fire roads. My jeep the the go to vehicle for snow tho. I can get to work when no one else can and I'm usually the one drafted to take family members to work.

My question is....I know lunch box lockers in the snow can be a headache and open diff is better for the front, but would the truetrac work well or am I better off keeping my open differential and dreaming of an ARB?

I've had great results with my Truetracs in the snow - both on and off road

Same here, can't be beat and if anyone tells you to run a locker in the front (be it ARB or otherwise) they probably are talking out of their third point of contact or have a shady internet reseller business/website.

You can't beat the predictability and handling of the DTT for a DD on slick roads.
