Found a 1978 Ford 9" - worth anything, or scrap it?

I came across a neighbor that has a Ford 9" Axle that came off a 1978 F100, it's got 2.75 gears and an open diff. The pinion moves and you can tell it rotates the axles but the brake drums are seized, no surprise as it's been outside for about 7 or 8 years. It was cut out of an old frame, it still has parts of the leafs on it.
I'm looking to help them out, and I thought I would see if it has any value to be sold for $100 or $200, or should I help them haul it to the scarp metal place?

I'm not familiar with Ford 9", but I know people do swaps in Jeeps and upgrades for other vehicles...

Let me know -

i know down here in the south a good 9 inch goes for 200-300... i bought one missing some brake parts for a 100... really popular upgrade for jeeps down here to get some width and strength for cheap...
