Ford 9" swap help

So I think its time for some new axles on my TJ. I am currently sitting on 33's but I want to upgrade to 35's/37's in the near future without having to worry about things breaking. For the rear I was think of a shaved Ford 9" with 4.88s possible 35 spline with Detroit locker. I'm unsure about clearance since I will be running 33's for the meantime. Would I be able to run 33's or should buy the tires at the same time. Also is it an necessity to use a HI9 3rd member or would an lp with proper pinon angle be fine since I don't play in the rocks, only trails and washed out climbs

Consider a fabbed 9" rather than regular 9" housing. Much better set up. In fact I think there is a thread on Pirate right now with plenty of people expressing opinions about this.

In the rear a low pinion setup stronger, with the possible exception of a True Hi-9 (if you are prepared to spend that money).

Here's the pirate thread I was thinking about: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1078552

Currie fabbed housings are nice. I run one in the rear.

I am also going to try and learn how to regear the 9" third member myself. From what I have heard its a good one to start with. I have seen a few good right ups but I was wondering if anyone had a link to a video or something very detailed to help me.
Thanks
