Ford 8.8 Identification??

About to buy a Ford 8.8 for a swap into my TJ. Axle tag says it has 4.10 gears. Just to be sure, I had the owner check the ring gear to see if the ratio was pressed onto it, like it usually is. The only thing he could find was the code in the picture below. It did not say the gear ratio. The axle tag checks out, but anyone could have changed that. Anyone know how to decifer the code in the picture below? I would have expected a 4L10 or 42 code... Please help!
