Ford 289 in CJ 2A, what to do to it?

It not running yet but while were on that track might as well upgrade anything instead of by stock replacements parts. Any idea on making more power and torque?

Go with a good header, intake and carb. If it is an old 289 than swap in a points conversion kit.This should give decent power.If you want more go with a small supercharger.

A stock 289 has more power than you could probably use in that chassis, and will start and run in hot weather and cold.Beware, the T90 3 speed trans and model 25 front axle are marginal under hi power engines.Just some thoughts, good luck on your conversion
