Fel-Pro Gasket Set for 4.0L I6
Does anyone know what the "extra" gaskets are for? I have 2 gaskets that go to the timing cover; one is black and the other is blue w/stripes. Do I use them both or just one of them? The gasket set didn't come with application instructions and my Haynes manual does not indicate that I should have more than one gasket.

It keeps down on the need to stock many different gasket sets. Packaging many times cost more than the item. Usually 1/4 the cost of the product is in packaging and transportation. So if they can cover a few more applications by adding in a gasket or two, it saves money in the long run.
