engine swap questions

Well its time for the complete swap and I think since my tired ax15 5 speed(270k) is on its way out, I figured what the hell and while I'm in there just do it all. So here's what I want:

5.3 liter out of a chevy silverado, NV4500 out of a dodge 3500, and a dana 300 flipped.

So where to start? Ok, Since the 5.3 is based on an LT1 out of a vette, will it be that hard to find the right motor mounts for it, I'll try novak and advance adapters, should I go with a bolt in kit or weld them in? Also will I need an adapter to mate the Nv4500 up to the chevy engine, and then since that tranny is out of a dodge, will I need an adapter to mate it to the 300? Anybody have any reasonable advice here?

The 5.3 liter is actually based off the LS1.
It's correct designation is the LM7.

Yes, you will need a bell housing/adapter to fit the NV 4500 to the LM7.
You will also need the adapter for the D300 case.
I haven't checked the pricing lately for the flip kit + the added expense for the case and shifters, but if the pricing is still up there, you may want to consider an Atlas II case.
Advance Adapters have all of these parts, as well as motor mounts.

You may try to find a 6.0 from a GM 2500 or 3500. I think they use a NV4500 if you can find one with a manual tranny. I don't know what transfer case they use, but why not get the whole driveline if you can?
The LM7 is readily available, but GM doesn't offer it mated with a manual tranny (which is where you get in to adapters).

I am going the same route for the same reasons. I have the engine, but the next bug pourchase is the tranny. It has to be a modified version with a GM input shaft and a Dodge 23 spline output shaft. The tranny and bellhousing kit alone will run you over $2000. If you are still interrested, try Greg at www.high-impact.net

Well the quest for more power has begun! I bought a dana 300 on wednesday and from there I may have decided that I don't need a flip kit. I could save the money from a flip kit and 4to1 kit and just build me a dana 44 out of a pre 80 wagoneer. Then just run the dana 300 the standard way. I have no way to really run the dana30 up front without putting more money into it anyways. So why not just build my front axle. One thing though, where does the speedo gear go on the 300? I can't seem to find the place even if there is one.

On the engine, where can I get the correct pieces to make my factory guages work? Are there anywebsites that can help me with my swap?
