Engine Occasionally Stalling When Idling
Just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. I have recently purchased a 1997 Jeep Cherokee, turbo diesel. It has only done 100,000kms but has a poor service history. My problem is, when idling at lights, traveling around a corner, or just at low revs (900-1000), for example, the jeep mis-fires and cuts out(stalls). It can often go weeks without stalling and is very random.
I have taken it to a local Jeep dealer to be tested and they can find no fault electrically. They suggested it to be a dirty fuel pump. My suspicion, however, is that it IS electrical...
Does anyone have any insight into what could possibly be going wrong?
