engine cleaning

hey guys im fixing to be taking my jeep to daytona for jeep week and im trying to make her all purdy. What kind of degreaser or what can i use to clean the engine and other than air filter what do i need to be carefull of getting wet?

I put mineral spirits in a garden sprayer. Then rinse with a weak solution of Simple Green.
