Dana 44 Fronts

What are some trucks with a modern 44? I am asking do to I cant think of any thing at the junkyard with a dana 44? And it would be pointless to run a 60 with a 9 inch wouldn't it? I know its not perfect but I had to vent my thoughts as I havent found a situation in many readings that is similar to what I plan on doing.

what do you plan on doing? The real issue is your Dana 35 rear axle.
You can beef up the dana 30 front.

Broncos, f150/250/350,(don't worry about the 9" it will be okay) Chevy pickups have d44's, some dodge. Yes the Chevy you would need to flip the tubes.

If I could find a 60 front id run it and re-drill my rear for 8 lug.

what size sawzall blades does it take to fit 40's?

steer clear of 78-79 bronco/f150. Has cast radius arm mounts. If you have the skill/tools to re-tube maybe not a bad axle, but to the rest of the community its too much work. Any other 78/79 f series is fine. They had leafs up front.

How far is Plymouth CT from the MA line, near RT84? I ask is I have plenty of friends with 44's fullwidth and I myself have a bunch of 60's.
One has a certon persons name in this thread name on it, if he wants it But I have more and even some Ford one's.

Check NEOW.org, thats the big northeast forum in our area, axle's are allways up forsale there.

Oh to answer ytour question will a 60 front be werd to run with a 9" rear, no. I have a good friend that run that said combo, he converted his front hubs and has 35 spline rear shafts, but it works killer with 39 red lable's. He in the springfaild mass area, maybe you have seen him????

Jason.

And on the 8th day, God created the 14 bolt...

Might have been him, cant remeber the coler of it, but it has probally more tube than body left.

Oh and like i said the BJ axle's are just as good when you get past a few minor details like high steer arms.
