Dana 44 Carrier Break

Does a Dana 44 have a carrier break like a D30/D35 does? I have D44s with 3.31 gears and want to go up to 4.88...do I need different carriers?

Thanks...

3.92 up, so to go 4.10's yes you need a carrier. unlees you can get thick gears for it and keep your OEM carrier, jason.
