Dana 23 pinion oil seal replacement help

Need advise on changing the pinion oil seals on the rear axle (dana 23) and front axle (dana 25) on a 1942 GPW (Ford Jeep). I have the yokes removed, looks like there is a shield that has to be taken out to get to the oil seals. Whats the best way to remove the shield and old oil seals, and install the new oil seals?
