Clunking and Stalling

I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4x4 V8. I have been experiencing stalling at low RPMs for a month, and recently my car has intermittently made clunking sounds from the rear and small lurching movements as I accelerate from a stop. The idle also sounds irregular and it's a little bumpy. I've taken this thing to three separate mechanics and none of them can tell me what the problem is. I think it could be the drivetrain, but I'm not an expert (hence why I took it the "experts"). I've spent almost $500 replacing parts/diagnosing it and my problem is only getting worse.

Any suggestions?

I take it there are no trouble codes?

What have you replaced so far? What is the maintenance history like?
