Cj7 stall problems

Having some problems with my 1980 cj7 2.5 with stalling under higher rpm. I thought it was fueling problems at first but I'm not forsure now. Replaced fuel pump and rebuilt the carb and it has helped it run better but still not perfect. It will idle fine but when you take it down the road and put it under higher rpm or a load it will start popping and stall. As long as I stay at low rpm it's fine. It has been running a couple seconds after you turn the key off I don't know if that's some indication of what's wrong. Any help will be a great help!
