Chevy 396 in a J10?

Hey everyone i just got a line on a 396 that i would love to get into my 76 J10 with a T18 4spd. Question is what would need to be done to get it in there. Can i do just a simple conversion to mate it with my stock tranny? Or will that be too many horses to stay with a stock tranny? I only know of the engine through a friend and i dont know any of the info on it...yet.But i plan on finding out more about it soon. Any input to my lack of knowledge would be greatly appriciated. Thanx Ryan

the t18 is a good tranny. it will hold with the 396. youll need engine mounts, bellhousing, custom exaust and the wiring. shouldnt be too bad
