catalytic converter removal
I'm ,uh, yea, thinking about moving to a country where there is no emmision inspections. Would removing my catlytic converter (retaining the o2 sensors) on my 1997 TJ 4.0 cause any problems for my engine?
Of course I'd only remove it once I was in the foreign country.

Well a rock removed the one on my CJ and for my Wrangler, I gutted it out with a crowbar and welded it back on to appear legal. Alabama doesn't check emissions. If the O2 sensors are before the cat, then gut it or remove it. If they are after the cat, leave it because your computer will be thrown off. That happended on my old '96 Bronco. I just ignored the check engine light that was on for 5 years.
