carb for injection

a buddy of mine has a 86 yj with the 258cid carb. i have a 91 xj with the 242 fuel injected. i was wondering if we can put my intake and wiring and other on. would it work? please let me know.

Do some searching on JeepForum and with Google. I talked with a guy at the junkyard pulling some XJ parts and wire harnesses to swap FI into a YJ.

IMO it would be the way to go.There are alot of manuals out there that can help set this system up.Adding the wiring,computer etc.

well i have all the wiring and suff on the xj. would the intake bolt up?

I do not know for sure. But I would count the # of bolts from each intake and make sure the #s are the same. If thats ok then do some measuring from bolt to bolt. Hopefully someone else that has first hand knowledge will post to help.

I have hear it will, same thing as the mopar (Hesco) kit for a 258. You would need to mod the bellhousing for the cps and use the 4.0 flywheel of get a relocating kit from Hesco or AA.
